How courier delivery works across South Africa
We courier keepsake gifts, engraved jewellery, photo books, urns and personalised items to customers throughout South Africa. Orders leave our Lynnwood studio once the item has been finished, checked and packed for transit. Delivery times vary by destination, with main centres usually moving faster than outlying towns and rural routes.
For most orders, the process is simple. You place your order, confirm any engraving or personalisation details, approve the proof where needed, and we prepare the item for dispatch. If a gift is time-sensitive, such as a funeral tribute or a memorial date, tell us early so we can advise what is possible.
- Main centres: usually quicker courier transit
- Outlying areas: allow extra working days
- Fragile items: packed for careful handling in transit
- Special dates: let us know before approval so we can plan the send-out
Packing standards for delicate keepsakes
Many of our items are small but valuable, both financially and sentimentally, so packaging matters. Jewellery, plaques and small keepsakes are wrapped and boxed to reduce movement, while urns and other fragile pieces receive additional protection before dispatch. We also consider local conditions such as heat, dust and coastal humidity when preparing parcels for courier travel.
Each parcel is packed to keep the contents steady, neat and protected. Where needed, we separate components so engraved surfaces do not rub against one another. If your order includes multiple family gifts, we can package them as one delivery or split them by recipient, depending on what makes sense for the order.
- Protective wrapping around engraved and polished surfaces
- Sturdy outer packaging for courier handling
- Clear labelling for recipient details
- Extra care for multi-item family orders
Collection from Lynnwood and nearby pickup points
If you prefer to collect, you can arrange pickup from our Lynnwood studio or from selected pickup areas in Pretoria and nearby Gauteng locations. Collection is useful when a family is travelling, when you need the item sooner than courier transit allows, or when you want to check a keepsake in person before taking it home.
Available pickup areas include Lynnwood, Menlyn, Brooklyn, Centurion, Silverton, Garsfontein, Montana and Midrand. Please wait for confirmation before collecting, because personalised items must be finished and released to the correct location first. Bring your order reference and be sure the person collecting knows the recipient name and item details.

What to expect with turnaround times
Turnaround depends on the type of work involved. Simple engraving may be completed sooner than a full photo book layout or a custom urn inscription. Orders with proof approval also take a little longer, because we wait for your go-ahead before production continues. If you have a memorial service, birthday or anniversary coming up, please mention the date when you enquire.
Load-shedding can affect production from time to time, especially where engraving equipment, finishing tools or printing work are involved. We plan around this as far as possible, but some orders may need an extra day or two. We would rather send a finished piece on time than rush a keepsake and get the details wrong.
Receiving, checking and storing your order
When your parcel arrives, open it carefully and check the item against your order details. Look at names, dates, spelling and any chosen message before discarding the packaging.
For memorial items, we recommend storing the piece in its protective box until it is needed. Jewellery should be kept dry and away from direct sunlight, while urns and plaques are best placed on a stable surface indoors. If you are planning a church service, home ceremony or graveside visit, keep the item in a safe place until the family is ready.
- Check names, dates and message text on arrival
- Keep packaging until the item has been inspected
- Store jewellery and keepsakes in a dry place
- Report transit damage promptly with photos if available
Bulk family orders and special delivery requests
We often handle more than one item for the same family, especially for memorials, anniversary gifts and matching keepsakes. If you need several pieces sent together or to different addresses, we can plan the packaging and courier arrangement around that. This can be helpful when family members live in Pretoria, Johannesburg, Durban or further afield.
For unusual requests, such as a split delivery, a timed collection or a courier hold for a specific date, tell us as early as possible. The more detail you give us upfront, the easier it is to keep the order moving. It also helps us avoid delays when the family is already under pressure.
Need help before dispatch?
If you are unsure about delivery to your area, the best collection option, or how long a personalised order will take, send an enquiry through our contact page. Our team in Lynnwood will review the order details, advise on the next step and help you choose the most practical delivery method for the item you are ordering.
Beloved’s goal is simple: make sure each keepsake reaches you in good condition, with the personal details correct and the packaging neat. A careful send-out matters, because these are not ordinary parcels. They carry memories, names and family meaning, and we treat them that way.
